Processor

The Processor is identified by a name and/or number that indicate its computing
capabilities. For example, a basic PC might have a Pentium 4 processor, whereas a more powerful system might have a Core i3 or Core i5 processor. Higher-numbered processor will perform tasks faster and allow the computer to do more things.

Processors are also rated in terms of processor speed, which is measured in megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz). When comparing two Pentium chips, the higher processing speed will normally indicate the more powerful computer. Typical processor speeds range from 500 MHz to 3 GHz. It is important to remember when evaluating a computer that the processor type (Pentium 4,Core i3 or Core i5) will determine the overall computer performance to a greater degree than the processing speed.
